A romantic spring wedding at The Mount Without in Bristol

Rebecca first contacted me before Christmas about bridal hair and makeup for her upcoming spring wedding in March this year in Bristol. I was delighted to work with her and quickly got a sense of her personal style at the hair and makeup trial.

Rebecca’s bridal style was natural, romantic and a little quirky. Her stunning wedding venue, The Mount Without, in Bristol’s city centre, is an ethereal, abandoned church steeped in history with dramatic gothic architecture. It was the perfect backdrop for the couple’s beautiful wedding celebration.

As there is no prep room at The Mount Without, Rebecca and her bridal party stayed at the luxurious Hotel Du Vin in Bristol the night before, and this is where all the bridal preparations took place ahead of the ceremony.

Rebecca and I met for her hair and makeup trial a couple of months before the wedding day, at my studio in Bristol. Rebecca and I hit it off immediately, as she is very creative and had a strong romantic vision for her bridal hair.

Rebecca has naturally fine hair, so I designed a style where I could add some real hair extensions to give more volume, length and texture. We agreed that a half up half down hair would suit Rebecca perfectly and the hair extensions nestled perfectly within the style to create a more natural and voluminous shape.

Rebecca has a fringe which I blow dried to add a little lift and softly frame her face.

The bridal makeup design was something we decided to keep very simple. Rebecca has gorgeous freckles so we kept the foundation very light and just focused on creating subtle coverage and a fresh glow to the skin.

I used a light reflecting foundation by ‘Chanel’, with a cream blush in a peach shade by ‘Dr PawPaw’, to add a hint of natural colour to the cheeks.

Rebecca’s eyes were simply defined with some waterproof mascara and the look was completed with Glossier lipstick in ‘Cake’.
